When a part failure is really a process problem
A failed entrance bushing or insulator is sometimes the result of a process problem and not its cause. Water or emulsion reaching the grid zone, from a high interface or a growing emulsion band, loads the electrical system and can damage insulation. If bushings or insulators fail repeatedly, read coalescer power unit tripping before ordering again.
What we need to identify the right part
- A photo of the vessel nameplate and the transformer nameplate.
- The part’s drawing number or old part number, even partial, if you have it.
- A photo of the part with a dimension for scale, where no reference exists.
- Operating temperature and pressure (say whether barg or bara), and whether service is sour.
- Documentation required: EN 10204 3.1 material test certificate, certificate of conformity, test certificates.
