Design control
Calculations, datasheets and drawings are prepared by an experienced task force. Each document carries a revision history. Design inputs are traced to the client’s datasheet or specification, and deviations are raised in writing for the client’s decision.
Manufacturer qualification
We design and manufacture our packages, and subcontract fabrication. Pressure vessels, skids, heaters and electrical equipment are built to our design and specification by approved and audited fabricators, selected from the client’s approved vendor list or from our own network, and we project-manage and supervise the work. Qualification looks at code authorisations held by the workshop, welding procedures and welder qualifications, non-destructive testing arrangements, and experience with the materials and thicknesses involved. The workshop certificates that apply to a package are those of the fabricator and are supplied in the project documentation.
Inspection and testing
An inspection and test plan is agreed for each package. It lists every inspection and test, the acceptance standard, and the hold and witness points for us, the client and any third-party inspector. Typical activities include material certificate review, weld inspection, non-destructive testing, pressure testing, high-voltage testing of electrical components, dimensional checks, and a factory acceptance test of controls.
Documentation
Packages are delivered with a manufacturing record book. Spare parts are supplied with the documents stated on each part page, which may include material certificates to EN 10204 type 3.1, a certificate of conformity, and pressure or high-voltage test records.
Codes and standards
Codes typically applied, and confirmed per project, include the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII, the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU, the UK Pressure Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016, API standards, and IEC 60079 with ATEX or UKEX certification for equipment in hazardous areas.
