Energises the electrode grid of an electrostatic coalescer prewash (the electrostatic precipitator on the caustic prewash of a kerosene sweetening unit). Steps up and rectifies the plant supply to a step up transformer output that is varied continuously from 0 to 40,000 V DC by a transformer voltage regulator, a auto-transformer (variac) on the primary side, so that the field can be raised gradually and held below the flashover point of the treated stream.

Fit and interchange
Made to order from the nameplate of the existing unit, the vessel drawings and the entrance bushing drawing: supply voltage and frequency, rated output current, hazardous-area marking, mounting and bushing arrangement. Supplied with or without the transformer voltage regulator. Suitable as a replacement on prewash coalescers and precipitators of several makes; see the compatibility statement below.
